The Environment

dolphin_slaughter - The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.
It's because of the cruelty that the human beings (civilised human) kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins.
This happens every year in Faroe Islands in Denmark. In this slaughter the main participants are young teens.
In this big celebration, nothing is missing for the fun. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty “supporting like a spectator.

Japanese whaling

  • Japanese Whaling in Australian Antartic waters
If a Penthrite explosion within a whale's body was a guarantee of instantaneous death or unconsciousness, as is often claimed by the whaling industry, then why are the average times to death not less than 10 seconds?
  • Japanese Whaling in Australian Antartic waters - research
Then the whalers electrocute them as they thrash and struggle and bleed profusely into the frozen sea for up to twenty minutes as their screams gurgle through the water in bubbles of blood and explode into the air with humanlike outbursts of unimaginable pain. I cannot express to you, my friends, just how it pains me to know that these butchering criminals are even now pursuing helpless whales as we search for them.

Photograph Gallery Index

The following bush walking photograph galleries can be seen on this website:
  1. Reflections - The best of Georges River - The best photographs of Georges River
  2. Gallery 1 - Royal National Park, Wattamolla, Marley Beach, Bundeena
This walk starts at Wottamolla beach and heads north to Bundeena where Port Hacking meets the Tasman sea south of Cape Solander, Captain Cooks landing place.
The first port of call is Little Marley followed by Marley Beach .
The objective of this walk was to view Humpback and Southern Right whales on their migration north. Unfortunately they didn't make an appearance

  3. Gallery 2 - Box Vale Track, State Forest, Welby, Southern Highlands
Located in State Forest at Welby, south of Mittagong on the Old Hume Highway. The Box Vale track was a narrow gauge tramway created to service a coal mine in Box Vale Creek. The tramway and its bridge are long gone but the cuttings, embankments and tunnel still remain much modified by mother nature, this gentle walk of 9 kilometre's return is superb.

  4. Gallery 3 - Georges River, Old Ford Road, Bushwalkers Basin, Freres Crossing, Kentlyn, Campbelltown, NSW
A stunning walk in a much under-rated area between Campbelltown and the Princess Highway, inland from the Royal National Park.
The walk is only seven kilometre's but takes an average group approximately five hours along the banks of Georges Rives starting at Hansons Rd Kentlyn.
There are several river crossings and the walk passes the Old Ford Road and Bushwalkers Basin at Kentlyn before moving on to its finishing point at Freres Crossing. On the way one passes many Gymea Lilies and Grass Trees, the sandstone cliffs with their caves are worth noting as is the unusual rock formations on the river bed which resemble the holes on Swiss cheese. The walk is mostly off-track and not for the inexperienced walker.

  5. Gallery 4 - Mt Tomah, Blue Mountains, NSW
More of a social event than a bushwalk, the trip to Mt Tomah in the Blue Mountains is very rewarding with the views.
Time if for Spring or Autumn to catch the colour of the plants and trees and one has a very rewarding day.
We caught the opening day of the Waratah Festival but were too early for the American trees section coming into leaf, we also saw the small grove of the ancient Wollami Pine (65,000,000 years old).

  6. Gallery 5 - Bundeena, Marley Beach, Little Marley Beach, Wattamolla, Garie Beach
This walk starts in the Royal National Park at Bundeena where Port Hacking meets the Tasman Sea. The walk heads south to the finishing point at Garie Beach.
The first port of call is Marley Beach followed by Little Marley, then on to Wattamolla for a 30 minute break and swim in the lagoon.
The journey continues passing Curracurang then Curracurong, after pausing to view Eagle Rock it is on to Garie Beach and a welcome ice cream or soft drink to finish the walk.

  7. Gallery 6 - Glow Worm Tunnel, Gardens of Stone National Park, Wollemi National Park, Upper Blue Mountains
On our journey we pass through the Glow Worm Tunnel, after investigating the Bells Grotto before returning to the Glow Worm Tunnel to viewing the Glow Worms.
Once through the tunnel was we venture into the other side of Bells Grotto then continue our journey along side Wolgan Valley Creek following the old railway track to Wolgan Valley. Viewing the rock pools as we go.

  8. Gallery 7 - MacBUG, Spring Ride, Sydney, Homebush Bay
Ten MacBUG members set out for the ride, one slept in (you know who you are). Five caught the 4.57am train from Campbelltown to Central, then the train to North Sydney. The views were something else crossing the harbour bridge with the sun fully up and the forecast warmth already being felt.

  9. Gallery 8 - Lady Carrington Drive, Forest Island, Palona Cave, Wallumarra Track, Hacking river, Curra Moors trail, Couranga track, RNP
The rain forest walk is an easy walk of around 8 kilometers, almost entirely in rain forest and its accompanying shade.

  10. Gallery 9 - Burning Palms
This superb 11.5 km walk starts at Otford and follows the Garawarra track along the top of the escarpment to the Garawarra Farm. Approximately 2 km from Otford there is a pad to the right which descends through rain forest to Palm Jungle and Burning Palms. Prior to the descent there are two lookouts to the side of the pad which are worth a visit. The pad meanders on through constantly changing flora until one arrives at Burning Palms. The ascent from Burning Palms up the Burg Ridge can be a challenge for those new tp walking or less fit. At the top of the escarpment one turns right onto the Garrawarra track for the 4 km walk back to Otford.

  11. Royal NP - Illawarra Flora and Fauna
Selection of photographs from fellow bushwalker and cyclist Debbie Jones. This selection is of some of the birds and plants found on the Illawarra coastline from Wollongong to Sydney's Royal National Park in the north.
